PADI Drysuit Diver

Drysuit DiverTraditionally dry suit diving would only by done in cold water when wetsuits are not practical or just not comfortable because of excessively cold temperatures. Technical diving and Cave diving in Thailand sometimes requires long decompression times as well as temperatures at depth much colder then the shallow reef temperatures most are accustomed to. Comforts as well as redundant buoyancy control are two of the major advantages of dry suit diving in any climate. For those that live in colder countries learning in a warm tropical environment is a very comfortable alternative.

The goal of this course is to show student divers how to consider all factors when diving in a dry suit. The course covers everything from choices of dry suit materials, techniques for controlling buoyancy above and underwater, dressing into and out of a dry suit, to maintenance and repair concerns.

Student divers learn to use the most effective and efficient means to extend their underwater adventure into cold water – without getting cold or wet. The best way to learn how to dive in a dry suit is by doing it. This program can be custom tailored to recreational, technical or sidemount diving configurations upon request.
